1800's (before 1850)

The Landscape
The landscape in the 1800's was very bare and the plantlife looked very dry and lifeless. The road's were really just dirt tracks. Farms around this time were not overgrown, the grass on the farms was infact very short in most places, other farms had more land though which ment they had much more grass for grazing. The houses in this time period of time were built using wooden panneling and and roofing. Houses were one story and two story. The gardens were very cared for as the female Europeans were the gardeners. The flower beds in the gardens were very creative and original.

The way of life for the Europeans in this time period was very traditional for them. The transport for the Europeans was either walking to the place they wont to go or horse and carriage. Only the rich people could afford the horses so many would walk places.

The clothes the Europeans wore where very formal even though they were everyday clothes. The woman would were lacy dresses with many layers on the bottom half of the dresses. and they wore a head dress to show if they were married or not. The men wore suits but the troussers were usually to short for them. They wore jackets along with their troussers and a plain white shirt. The children wore the sames clothes as their parents but in smaller sizes.

They ate roasts on Sunday afternoons and other meals usually consisted of their home grown vegetables, and meats form the local markets.
